Public Speaking
A simulation of a professional public speaking communication, including written preparation of the speech and a presentation given to an assessment panel, followed by a Q&A session.
Duration and schedule : 15 hours – weekdays, daytimel
PREREQUISITE : Command of English (Level B2 required) This programme is for people who need to speak in public with impact, in their own professional context. They should have a minimum of one year’s experience in the job which requires them to speak in public, in the presence of in-house or external audiences (colleagues, clients, investors, partners ….)
Public : This certification develops skills to structure presentations, captivate an audience, deliver impactful messages, and showcase expertise. It is applicable to all sectors and roles, improving employability, influence, and performance.

OBJECTIVES :
- Prepare a public speaking engagement by identifying objectives and structuring a detailed and logical speech plan
- Initiate a public speaking talk using a powerful hook and clearly introducing the topic and objectives
- Energise public speaking by using a variety of verbal and non-verbal communication techniques depending on the message and environment, and by illustrating points with creative and impactful techniques
- Handle unexpected audience interventions (questions, objections, interruptions, etc.) using active listening techniques
- Conclude a public speaking engagement in a memorable way by summarising key messages and using an appropriate positive anchoring technique for the audience
Enrollment: Timing depends on mode of payment. For inscriptions financed via the CPF, there is a 14 day minimum waiting period between the date of the confirmation of the training course and its start date (legal withdrawal period).

- Evaluation of Skill Acquisition :
- Professional simulation of an impactful public speaking situation, via a preliminary written document of the speech to be given, and a simulation in the presence of our jury, followed by a question and answer session. Each candidate will be assessed by a professional jury compsed of 2 members :
- 1 person representing HUMANEM Formation
- 1 person from an external body

- Oral or Interpersonal Communication,
- Professional training in expression or communication,
- Coaching in communication, personal development, professional counselling,
- Theatre, dramatic expression scénique or media training,
- Or any other function requiring public speaking skills (facilitation, management, running meetings, sales pitches, , etc.).The Assessors have all had professional experience of at least 3 years in one of the following fields :
- The final decision will be made by the Manitude certifier via a certification jury.
- Each participant who passes the assessment will receive a Certificate of Competency edited by Manitude.

1.1.1 Preparing a Public Speaking Engagement: a Structured and Adapted Approach (C1)
- Identify the professional speaking situation, analyse the context and the stakes
- Define the objectives of the presentation
- Analyse the target audience and their expectations
- Formulate key messages
- Structure a logical outline (introduction, development, conclusion)
- Ensure accessibility of the presentation content for people with disabilities
1.1.2 Initiating a Speech with Impact (C2)
- Master the first seconds: opening techniques (anecdote, question, statistic, etc.)
- Build a clear and engaging introduction: explicit announcement of the topic and objectives to maintain audience attention
- Adopt impactful non-verbal communication:
- Confident physical posture
- Eye contact and stage presence supported by appropriate gestures
1.1.3 Energising Your Speech and Maintaining Attention (C3)
- Become aware of and master the fundamentals of the voice: volume, articulation, pace, and intonation
- Learn to manage pauses and variations in pace
- Use gestures, movement, and eye contact to stimulate attention
- Use storytelling and elements of surprise to captivate and evoke emotion and attention
1.1.4 Managing Interactions and Unexpected Situations (C4)
- Define a clear framework for audience interaction
- Practise active listening when responding to questions or objections
- Handle interruptions and difficult questions, then refocus the speech to maintain connection with the audience
- Know how to regain the thread of the speech
- Manage timing and respect the allotted duration
1.1.5 Concluding in a Memorable and Coherent Way (C5)
- Understand the strategic role of the conclusion
- Identify and summarise key messages to encourage their adoption
- Choose from positive anchoring techniques (image, quotation, emotion, call to action)
- Align the conclusion with the initial objectives
1.1.6 Consolidation and Certification
- Deliver a full simulation before an assessment panel
- Answer questions from the panel and justify the choices made
- Final feedback and identification of areas for improvement
